VIth International scientific and technical conference "Oil and Gas Power Engineering – 2017" took place in IFNTUOG

On May 16-18,2017 the VIthInternational scientific and technical conference "Oil and Gas Power Engineering – 2017" was held in the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. The conference was an important step in a series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the University. In his welcome speech, the Chairman of the organizing Committee, rector, academician of NAS of Ukraine, Professor Ye. Kryzhanivskyi noted that petroleum engineering is a branch of science that explores and develops scientific bases of the improvement of technology and techniques of production, transportation and use of energy, which is especially topical for Ukraine at this time.

The office of the international organization "Society of petroleum engineers" (SPE) established in Ivano-Frankivsk.

In the framework of International scientific and technical conference "Oil and gas power engineering 2017" the establishing of the office of Ivano-Frankivsk section of the international organization "Society of petroleum engineers" (SPE) took place in the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. Director of the Institute of Petroleum engineering Oleh Vytiaz addressed the participants dwelling on the stages of formation and development of SPE section, thanked the rector of the University academician of NAS of Ukraine Professor Ye. Kryzhanivskyi for help and assistance in the functioning of the SPE office.

Cooperation agreements signed with PJSC "Ukrnafta" and the Norwegian company AGR

On  May 16, 2017 in the framework of the VIth International scientific and technical conference "Oil and gas power engineering-2017" dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas rector, academician of NAS of Ukraine, Professor Ye. Kryzhanivskyi signed two important Agreements on cooperation with PJSC "Ukrnafta" and the Norwegian company AGR.

In his welcoming speech the rector of the University noted that due to the complicated situation in the East of the country, the Academic Council decided not to hold massive celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the IFNTUOG. That is why they have decided to celebrate the half-century anniversary of IFNTUOG by three large scientific conferences, the second of which takes place these days.

During the signing of the agreement with PJSC "Ukrnafta", the representative of the company Volodymyr Ohryzko noted that IFNTUOG has made a great contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry, and the company is extremely interested in cooperation with the University. This applies to the practical training of students at the company, writing master's theses for solving the current problems of the industry, the introduction of programs to stimulate the best students, involvement of high level specialists of PJSC "Ukrnafta" in trainings and lectures and the like. The agreement provides for cooperation until 2020. In conclusion, on behalf of the Chairman of the Board of PJSC "Ukrnafta" Mark Rollins, V. Ohryzko handed over a note of acknowledgement to the rector for the significant contribution of the University in the development of oil and gas education and science.

Norwegian lecturer visits the University within the international project "Ukraine - Norway"

On April 24-25, the group of students studying in the framework of Ukrainian-Norwegian project involving the University of Nordland (Bodø, Norway), International Fund for Social Adaptation (Kyiv, Ukraine), and our university which aims at retraining of 30 military personnel, retired members, and their families as well as social adaptation of this layer of population and their integration into the regional economy had an opportunity to attend the lecture held by the Norwegian professor Øystein Nystad.

The main topic of the lectures was waste management: challenges and opportunities. On the examples of Norway and other countries Professor Øystein Nystad explained why it is important to establish waste management system (recycling into energy or reuse) as the wrong policy of waste management affects the environment. Also in the beginning of the session Mr. Nystad addressed issues of business ethics.

 

 
 

Meeting with Polish partners on the expansion of the program of dual diplomas, internships and practical trainings

On 12 April, 2017 the meeting of Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work of IFNTUOG Professor Oleh Mandryk, Director of the Institute of Economics and Management in OGC Professor Liliana Horal and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Management of AGH Dariusz Sala took place in the framework of cooperation between the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas and Mining and Metallurgical Academy ("Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica w Krakowie (AGH)") of the Republic of Poland. During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of very important issues, namely, the increase of specialties, which students could obtain under the program of dual diplomas, internships, practical training, and doctoral studies.
