INNOVER-EAST validation workshop in Armenia

The validation workshop of the Armenian study on the state of innovation in energy efficiency was held on June 10, 2015 in the Round Hall of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (NAS RA). The study was implemented by the Science Development Foundation, Armenian partner of the INNOVER-EAST project.

The workshop was aimed at presenting the results of the national study on drivers, barriers and bottlenecks on increasing energy efficiency in the innovation ecosystem to Armenian STI and RES/EE experts and improve/validate the report based on contributions of the experts.

UK Study Visit 29 June – 2 July 2015

A  Study Visit to UK “Building effective energy communication capacity amongst the academic community in Ukraine, project “Academia” took place on 29 June – 2 July 2015.

Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas was presented by the Head of International Relations Department, Associate Professor Artur Voronych.

Objectives of the study visit:

  • Science communication from a UK government perspective
  • Science communication: recent research in the UK on the current situation for communicating with the media, the science community and the public. Universities were the main focus but there was also a lot of work done in the private sector and with the Research Councils.
  • Geoscience with a focus on shale gаs
  • Public engagement with energy issues and the social impacts

During the visit there were held the following meetings:

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway visits IFNTUOG

On June 9, 2015 Mr. Jon Elvedal Fredriksen, Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine visited Technical University of Oil and Gas. Representatives of the university administration, academic staff, and students were present at the meeting. 

During the meeting, the First vice rector of the University, Professor Fedir Kozak thanked the Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine Jon Fredriksen for the visit and expressed interest in cooperation with Norwegian universities. In particular, Mr. Kozak said that the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas is currently negotiating with the Norwegian University of Stavanger. It is expected that both universities will sign a framework agreement on cooperation that will involve cooperation in education and science, particularly in the field of student exchange, joint research and participation in international projects under the program HORIZON-2020.

Projects successfully completed by the University in cooperation with Norwegian partners - namely the projects "Energy and Energy Efficiency" and "Ukraine-Norway. Retraining of retired personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other security forces" were presented during the meeting. 

International Student Petroleum Congress "East Meets West"

On April 22-24, 2015 International Student Petroleum Congress & Career Expo "East Meets West" was held in a wonderful city of Krakow (Poland).
This year Ukraine was represented by seven students of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, members of SPE - Ostap Khodak, Oleksandr Lymar, Roman Mazur, Serhii Kryvenko, Andrii Vytiaz, Uliana Dzoba, Sviatoslav Stefanyshyn! Two of them, Serhii Kryvenko and Roman Mazur, successfully presented their researches in different sessions.


Cooperation Agreement signed between The Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti (Romania) and IFNTUOG


Agreement on Cooperation between the Petroleum and Gas University of the city of Ploiesti and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas was officially signed in early May 2015 in the city of Ploiesti (Romania).

The agreement aims at the continued cooperation of both parties in the field of education and science, particularly in the field of exchange of bachelors, masters, PhD students, and young scientists. Students will have an opportunity to study according to the program of dual diplomas and undergo traineeships abroad. The objectives of cooperation between the universities in the field of exchange and training of PhD and doctoral students include: the joint supervision of masters’ diplomas, providing scholarship opportunities for students, providing access to modern laboratory equipment and scientific and technical base for conducting researches, as well as exchange of scientific papers, reviews and qualifying papers.
